Today, we're going to be talking about frame, social value, and we’re going to answer the question - how do we hold frame with the seller?
I'm going to offer an actual example, a real live call with Jim, one of our purchase agents, who does an amazing job on this call of holding frame with the seller.
To set the context for what you’re going to hear, whenever we're talking to a seller and negotiating using the Investor Creator framework, we never give a price and we never make an offer. Ever.
There are three reasons for this:
- An offer is a commodity to shop
- Type 2 error - the seller’s value that they’re willing to take is lower than what you’re willing to pay
- Not making an offer is the bridge to a good deal structure

Marriage can be hard enough as it is. When you add in running a business together, like we, Brad and Casey Smotherman do, it can add in so many more dynamics.
In our masterminds, we saw that there were wives that didn't really know how to support the husband; we saw the opposite end of the spectrum, where some husbands didn't know how to support their wives.
However, we believe it's important to be holistic. It's not just about doing another deal, finding the money, negotiations and all that - it’s also important to have a great life. So we're hoping to share some insights, tips and tools that we have learned about how you can run a business together with your spouse.
